USE OF SUICIDE BOMBERS IN KASHMIR-A GAME CHANGER

Syed Sallah ud Din, the head honcho of United Jihad Council, political commissar of Hiz ul Mujahidin (whose military control is always with ISI and whose God father is Geelani) and his Master’s voice – Master is the GHQ at Rawalpindi, where even the Pakistan PM is summoned at short notice by the all powerful Army, now made even more powerful by the present Chief,Gen Raheel Sharief because of his pedigree – His family is recipient of two, not one, Nishan e Hyder — One for his Mama (1965) and the other for his elder brother (1971), both posthumous — no soldier could ask for more – and as a soldier, I cannot but respect the highly decorated soldiers.
Syed Sallah ud Din, having enjoyed Pakistani hospitality for over a quarter of a century, does not have the power to move even a little finger without the express permission of ISI. On most occasions, he just reads the manuscript handed over to him by his masters.
In his latest statement, Sallah ud Din says, ” ……Will turn the valley into a graveyard for Indian Forces”. The statement is significant and laden with grave ramifications for none other than Kashmiris themselves, for whose cause he claims to have launched this jihad ! Let me explain.
Nowhere in the world have suicide bombers caused much damage to the organised armed forces engaged in combat, for the simple reason that an army deployed in conventional/proxy war, rarely presents a lucrative target for tactical reasons.Dispersal is the first tactical principle of ground forces in conventional war and in insurgency, this tactics gets even more fortified against militant threat by the necessity of operating in small teams (unlike in conventional war, the threat in insurgency scenario is from small, well armed opponents, operating stealthily, rather than from massed formations).
For a suicide bomber to cause enough damage, he must get a big crowd ( target) in a radius of 150-200 meters. Army will not present any such target. That is why most suicide bombers detonate the suicide vest in crowded, unsuspecting places like markets, schools, courts, railway stations, mosques , etc. The only place where armed forces are vulnerable are when they are in their barracks. But to reach there, the suicide bomber has to cross many check points. It is mostly at these check points that suicide bombers detonate their bombs, causing little damage.
There has not been a single case of suicide bombing in Kashmir during the past 27 years of insurgency, for this( above) reason alone.
Now, why will Pakistan employ this tactic ? Every war, including a proxy war, has a main aim and a subsidiary aim. Pakistan has not been able to achieve their main aim– to grab Kashmir. Their subsidiary aim is to punish Kashmiris, who, according to them, have not fought well enough to assist Pakistan either during the past 27 years of proxy war, or during the four conventional wars which Pakistan fought with India to wrest Kashmir.
And what best way to punish Kashmiris; use a Kashmiri to announce the deployment of suicide bombers, couched in acceptable Jihadi rhetoric ( in this case, will turn the valley into a graveyard of Army). I dare say that use of suicide bombers will be a game changer in Kashmir.With the first attack by a suicide bomber, be prepared to welcome the first wave of Kashmiri Muslim Migrants in Delhi.
