Dear Enlightened Readers,
Jai Hind! Shuvo Vijaya.
Let the Divine Mother shower Her ceaseless blessings on all of us.
The week reviewed has seen a lot of violence. It was again ISIS and ISIS. The shrinking ISIS are recruiting criminals. They are now seeking training for their fighters from Pakistan. This is something never heard of.
The Nobel Prize for economics this year went to British-American Oliver Hart and the Finish Bengat Holmstrom. The same for literature, quixotically, went to An American singer. This is for the first time that the Nobel prize for literature has gone to a singer.
China has been planning a permanent space station and remained pro Pakistan. It told India that the sealing the Indo-Pak border was not a good policy. This is despite the fact that Pakistan is on record that it would now depend more on Russia and the US rather than on China, because it felt China was now a declining power. China, however, also made some pro-India gesture. It continued courting Nepal. For the first time, it showed interest in the Syrian crisis. It continued to consolidate its hold on the SCS region that remains a flash Taiwan has again said that it was ready for talks with China but without any condition.
Mikhail Gorbachev feel that due to US-Russian rivalry, the world has now become a dangerous place.
Some other salient points in this letter are:
- Maldives has left the Commonwealth. This has been a great move of mental courage!
- India benefited from the BRICKS SUMMIT Conference.
- After the surgical operations by India against Pakistan, India seems to be speaking with confidence.
- Both Russia and US showed pro-India attitude.
The GEOPOLITICAL Section and the GENERAL SECTION contain some useful information. The National Defence Section shows our concerns. After all, national security is our primary thrust area.
This letter has now run in an unbroken run of chain of 172 weeks.
