Chauthi Dunia on September 12 alleged in a report on the front page that such Muslim leaders who complain about illegal occupation on waqf properties actually they themselves are occupying several waqf properties. The newspaper expressed astonishment to the fact that such Muslim lawyers who are looking after cases of waqf properties connive with the people occupying waqf properties. Recently on August 27, 2016, presiding over a seminar by Islamic Waqf Academy, Maulana Arshad Madani demanded eviction from illegal occupation on several waqf properties and demanded reform in their management.
Maulana Mehmood Madani himself occupying propery illegally
Chief of another group of Jamiat Ulama e Hind Mahmood Madani always demanded eviction from the waqf properties in his addresses but he never mentioned that he himself was illegally occupying Nabi mosque. Delhi Waqf Board sent a legal notice on August 30, 2016 to Mehmood Madni in which it was said that illegal construction close to Nabi mosque had been rented out by the management committee. Waqf board alleged that from the past 46 years no audit has been done to its account. According to Chauthi Dunia newspaper, as per investigation it was found that Mehmood Madani illegally constructed several buildings in the mosque. Whenever it was asked to Jamiat Ulama Hind, its answer was that this was given to them by the then education minister Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. The question is that how could Maulana Azad hand over a waqf property to Jamiat Ulama? If there is any document in this regard why was it not produced? The newspaper said that around 6 lakh acres of waqf land was under illegal occupation and there were 4,90,000 registered waqf properties in the country but most of them were illegally occupied. Interesting thing is that these illegal occupations are mostly done by Muslim leaders or Muslim organizations. The newspaper asked what is the condition of proprietary of 123 waqf properties? The Dr. Manmohan Singh government had announced to hand over these properties to waqf board and these properties are situated at Mansingh Road, Connaught Place, Ashoka Road, Pandara Road, Karol Bagh, Azad Market and Jangpura. The newspaper alleged that organization raising voice for Muslims like All India Muslim Personal Law Board was also silent on this issue. The richest man of the country Mukesh Ambani had built his 27-storied house on a waqf property. In this scam legal advisor of Muslim Personal Law Board Yusuf Hatim Muchhala was also involved who was trying to save Ambani house as a lawyer. The story goes like this that Mukesh Ambani bought this land of orphanage from waqf board on nominal prize. But when some people raised this issue in the meeting general secretary of the board refused to look into the matter by saying that board looks into the matters only related to Babri Mosque and it does not have anything to do with other matters.
