Religious Culture is an Obstacle to Development and Prosperity of Nepal -Dr. Baburam Bhattrai
Kathmandu: The former Prime Minister and head of New Shakti Party of Nepal, Dr. Baburam Bhattrai has said that Hindu religious culture is an obstacle to development and prosperity of Nepal because Nepali’s believe traditionally Hindu Customs and Culture. Moreover, Abhishek Tiwari and others human rights activists in Nepal protest this and claimed that Bhattrai should Apology in Public because he hit public and religious sentiment.
Bhattrai added that the Nepalese religious culture of the present Hindu traditions did not change prosperity until they changed their traditions.
Dr. Bhattrai was a Speaker for a program titled “Resolution for the New Nepal and the commitment to prosperity,” which held in Kathmandu. He said that culture and development is not the same thing. However, if we cannot improve our thoughts and conduct, our religion and culture cannot develop. He said that the economic prosperity should be maintained by maintaining geopolitical balance.
He said that progress should be done by identifying the priorities of development and prosperity. He has criticized Abbhaksha and has been criticized for social network after he has said that Hindu religious nature is the obstacle and prosperity of Nepal.
According to the 2011 census, 81.03% of the Nepalese population was Hindu, 9.0% was Buddhist, 4.4% was Muslim, 3.% was Kiratist and 1.4% was Christian and few are others like Sikhs, Jains etc. However, in 2015 Nepal Earthquake killed 9000 and injured nearly 22,000.
After the earthquake, the Christian Missionary takes an opportunity to convert the Hindus to the Christian. In addition, few people are the part of that conversion mission in Nepal.
